Will regular kerosene suit my Aga (or similar cooker), and does it meet British Standards?
Yes. Esso's kerosene ('28-second heating oil') is suitable for Aga and similar cookers and meets BS 2869. Much of the kerosene refined at Fawley is used as aviation fuel - where high quality is essential.What is my tank's capacity?
If your tank is metal and cuboid, you can calculate the volume by multiplying together the length, width and height measurements in feet, to produce the volume (in cubic feet). Multiply this by 28.125 and you'll have your tank capacity in litres.e.g. 6ft x 4ft x 4ft = 96 cubic feet. 96 x 28.125 = 2,700 litre tank. Plastic tanks aren't so straightforward as their shapes vary, and the formula above doesn't apply. You may find the tank size etched or marked on the top of the tank, alternatively call the manufacturer.
I have a couple of inches of fuel in my tank - how long will it last?
An average boiler will use approximately 5-10 litres a day - double this amount for an Aga. Two inches should last 3-4 days, an inch up to 36 hours.How far away from my driveway or the roadside should I position my tank?
Our tankers have an average maximum hose reel length of 130ft. However, when calculating distance from your driveway or the roadside, please make sure you account for going round or over obstacles. We suggest you make access as clear as possible - too many obstacles may mean we can't deliver due to safety concerns.If I order today, when will I receive my delivery?
Our standard delivery time is five working days. If you've run out of fuel, we'll do our best to get you some fuel sooner. We have a winter emergency delivery service in some areas - this service can arrange to deliver 400 litres of kerosene usually within 24 hours. We'll always try and delivery fuel at a convenient time. You don't need to be present for a delivery as long as the driver has access to the tank. We can also call you the night before a delivery, if you wish. Can I mix Premium Tiger Heat with the kerosene already in my tank?
Yes, they will be completely compatible; however any initial dilution of Premium Tiger Heat will reduce the effect of the improvements in combustion quality. This will improve after subsequent fills.Will any warranties on my boiler and equipment be effected?
No, the product meets the same British Standard BS2869 as normal Kerosene and therefore should not have any effect on any warranties.Is this product more expensive?
Although there is a price difference when compared to kerosene, tests show that in the majority of boilers the efficiency savings will more than cover this cost.How will this product effect my aga cooker?
Aga Cookers rely on several factors to ensure stable operations. These include thorough maintenance and set-up as well as the thermal stability of the kerosene. If you currently burn class 2 kerosene (ordinary kero) then Premium Tiger Heat, with increased thermal stability, can only help with that aspect of the burn. Premium Tiger Heat can avoid typical operating problems that occur, but will not change the calorific value of the fuel.Will there be any adverse effects to the product in very cold or very hot temperatures?
