Bio Diesel is a diesel alternative made from a range of animal and vegetable oils, the most common variety being known as Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME).
You can use Bio Diesel as a direct replacement for Ultra Low Sulphur Diesel (ULSD). Its 95:5 mixture meets the EN590 specification required by vehicle manufacturers to validate warranties. However, should you need another blend, such as 80:20 or 70:30, this can be arranged - and your engine will not need modification. Please note: for blends higher than 70:30, we suggest you consult the engine manufacturer.
The use of bio diesel can benefit the environment, energy resources and social circumstances. It's non-toxic and biodegradable, and has a high flash point making it safer to handle and store. It's also suitable for use in areas that are environmentally sensitive.
Vehicles that run on blends of bio diesel show benefits in almost all key emission groups. They replace the lubricity characteristics removed by using low sulphur fossil fuels, thereby improving performance and engine life.
